Allysa Lisbon (she/they) is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles and originally from Kansas City, Missouri. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Film and Media Studies from Georgetown University and recently completed her MFA in cinematography at American Film Institute.
Her work explores ideas of heritage, memory, complexities of the diaspora and gender/sexuality. She shoots commercially throughout the LA area and is the founder of Saturn Studios, an independent production company which is available for hire as a futuristic collective of media makers. Her work has been featured at various film festivals including Imagine This Women’s Film Fest, Marina Del Rey Film Fest, and won awards from the Telly Awards and Webby Awards, and has been featured in The Washington Post and the Smithsonian Institution Museum. Allysa is most at home behind the camera and excited by the challenge of using impactful visual language to breathe life into nuanced, diverse stories.
